CARRINGTON- Josh Bickett tossed a complete game and Carrington’s offense came to life in the final four innings as the Cardinals finished a regular season sweep of New Rockford-Sheyenne with a 7-3 win at Bank Forward Park on an overcast Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing 1-0 in the third, Grady Shipman got caught in a rundown, allowing Tate Wolsky (2-for-2 with a BB, two SB, and three runs scored) to score from third and tie the game. In the fourth, Carrington (4-6, 3-2) would take the lead for good when Max Whittman connected on a two-run double for a 3-1 lead.
That was more than enough for the junior right-hander, who went all seven, allowing just three hits and three unearned runs with two strikeouts. Thomas Allmaras had an RBI single for the Black Sox (5-3, 2-2).
Carrington is next in action Friday at home against Harvey/Wells County with coverage beginning at 4:15pm on KDAK The Cardinal.
