Lloyd Roy Koch, 79 of Valley City passed away on January 12, 2013 in Mesa, AZ. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday Feb. 23rd at the Valley City Eagles with Deacon Eugene Kramer officiating.

     Lloyd was born May 30, 1933 in Valley City, son of John H. and Rose (Ottle) Koch and was raised on 2 farms in rural Valley City. He attended a rural school and at age 16 took over the family farm and farmed until his retirement in 2000. He married his life partner, Verlyn Kammerer on October 25, 1952. They were married for 60 years and to this union 8 children were born.

     Lloyd was a life time member of the Sodbusters and the VC Eagles. He enjoyed farming, teaching his children life lessons, and sharing his wisdom with his grand children and his great grand children. He loved auction sales where he purchased and fixed up many vintage tractors. Lloyd took up fishing in Canada and Lake Ashtabula after his retirement.

     Verlyn and Lloyd enjoyed the home they purchased in Arizona very much, looking forward to spending a lot more time there. Visiting and playing cards were his specialty and Lloyd will be forever remembered by his hearty laugh and his great friendships.

     Lloyd was survived by his wife Verlyn, his children, Alan (Cindi) Koch,Fargo, ND, Arlana (Scott) Cisinski, Hastings, NE, Gary (Joan) Oriska, ND, Juleen (Tom) Cruff, Oriska , ND, Glenn (Mary) Clermont, FL, and Bradley (Sue) Koch, Fargo, ND, 15 grand Children , 7 great grand children, daughter-in-law, Arlene Scott, Pueblo, CO, sisters Ruth (Jerry) Rinker, Greenville, TN and Lillian Kramer, Jamestown, ND, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded by: His Parents, an infant daughter Karen Elaine, a Son Dr. Marvin Koch, a Grand son Benjamin Lloyd Kuntz.
