VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series on April 18th featured VCSU pianist Dr. Ozzie Johnson and Music Education Student Tara Dahl entertaining the crowd on a 1860s Arlington Square Grand Piano (Boston) owned by Lura Livonia Perrine and brought to Valley City in the 1890s when she came to teach at the new college in Valley City. It’s one of the first objects donated to the museum when it was founded in 1930.

During the event, the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation and President of the Barnes County Historical Society, Steve King, shared insights on how you can contribute to support the museum Endowment Fund.

King said your support is paramount to the ongoing success of the Barnes County Historical Society. For more information on how you can donate to the endowment fund or how you can become a friend of the museum please contact Steve King or Wes Anderson at 701-845-0966.
