GRIGGS COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 1, approximately one mile south of Hannaford, ND, resulted in minor injuries for the occupants early this morning, according to authorities.
The incident, reported at around 01:00 a.m. on April 23, 2024, involved a 1998 Dodge Dakota traveling southbound. The pickup, driven by 44-year-old Jesse Pierce of Napoleon, ND, veered off the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its passenger side.
Pierce, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries. He was accompanied by a passenger, identified as 54-year-old Tasha Courtade, also from Napoleon, ND, who similarly sustained minor injuries. Both occupants were transported to Cooperstown for medical treatment.
Authorities reported that Pierce faces misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and refusal to submit to a chemical test (DUI-Refusal). Courtade, the passenger, faces charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
