(NewsDakota.com)- For the second time in five days the No. 14 Jimmie women will face off against the Comets of Mayville State. The Comets come into the contest as the No. 20 team in the country after an upset win over Valley City State.
Carly Jensen hit five threes to spark the Jimmies to a 79-61 win Sunday as they took home the Dakota Tip-off Classic title. But, just because the Jimmies won convincingly this weekend head coach Greg Ulland knows it won’t be that easy again.
On the men’s side it will be the first meeting between Jamestown College and Mayville St. The Jimmies are coming off a pair of impressive wins as they too took home the championship this weekend. They defeated Dakota State on Saturday, 62-57 and on Sunday they knocked off the Vikings 69-66.
Having Mayville State in the same tournament as the Jimmies gave Justin Wieck and his coaching staff ample time to scout their upcoming opponent.
Tip-off of the women’s game tonight is at 5:30pm and both games will be carried on 1400 KQDJ and NewsDakota.com.
