SEWARD, NE – Concordia swept a GPAC softball doubleheader from Jamestown Friday 4-3 and 11-3 at Plum Creek Park, bring the Jimmies back to .500 in conference play.

Game 1: Concordia 4, Jamestown 3

Julia Van Wey had a two-run single in a three-run fourth for Concordia (13-20, 3-6 GPAC) that broke a 1-1 tie.

Ally Battistoni had an RBI on a squeeze play, Sam Martinez hit an RBI double and Kayla Quintanilla had an RBI single for Jamestown (22-10, 6-5).

Hope Ransome (8-4) took the defeat, allowing four runs and nine hits in six innings with three strikeouts and two walks.

Game 2: Concordia 11, Jamestown 3 (5)

Concordia (14-20, 4-6) took an early lead in the second game with two runs in the first inning and another in the third.

Gracie Fisher put Jamestown (22-11, 6-6) on the board with an RBI single in the fourth, but Concordia then put seven runs up in the home fourth.

An error scored the other two runs for the Jimmies in the fifth and Concordia ended the game with a run in their fifth inning.

Sunny Halsey (3-1) allowed nine runs (seven earned) and six hits in three innings.

Jamestown will play a doubleheader against Midland Saturday in Fremont, Nebraska.
