VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Beginning Bluegrass Jam/Class on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 am – noon Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center in downtown Valley City. This monthly class/jam session is for learners of all ages interested in playing acoustic bluegrass music informally as a jamming group. Instruction focuses on backup playing and singing to support the group sound. Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, Dobro slide guitar, and upright bass. We also allow ukulele participation for the beginner jammer. We have instruments on hand to try out. There is no charge to participate. The second event is the Valley City Monthly Bluegrass Jam Session on Saturday, April 13 from 1 – 5 pm in the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center in Valley City. This acoustic jam is designed for aspiring and established bluegrass musicians with their basic skills in place. Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, Dobro slide guitar, and upright bass. No charge to participate. Listeners are welcome.
