JAMESTOWN – Tath Dak has been hired as the new assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Jamestown by Head Coach Casey Bruggeman.

For the last two seasons, Dak has been an assistant for Southwest Minnesota State.  This past season, the Mustangs made the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time since 2018.  SMSU was 35-25 the last two years.

Dak, a Lincoln, Nebraska native, played collegiately at Minnesota-Morris and was a team captain.  He graduated there in 2022 and will very soon receive his master’s degree in education and sports leadership from SMSU.

In a news release, Dak said: “Joining the University of Jamestown as the new assistant basketball is an absolute honor. I am both thrilled and humbled to be a part of a program with such a rich basketball legacy. I am deeply thankful to Coach Bruggeman for entrusting me with this opportunity! Go Jimmies!”
