(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington boys basketball team played Langdon last night and defeated them 70-34. The Cards keep their perfect season going and improve to 13-0 overall, District Eight Langdon drops to 2-10 overall. Of the top 10 teams in the state right now, only three have undefeated records; #1 Beulah (14-0), #5 Carrington (13-0) and #8 Strasburg-Zeeland (13-0).
Last night Carrington led at halftime by 10 points, 34-24, but scored 18 points compared to just five from Langdon and went ahead 52-29 at the end of three quarters. Sr. Forward Austin Johnson led the way for the Cards with 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Followed by Sr. Taylor Skytland with 14 including three 3-pointers, Sr. Center Scott Burnham added 13 and Soph. Seth Abaurrea had 10. Alex Nelson had three assists.
Carrington shot 26/63 for 41% from the field and 14/24 for 58% from the charity stripe.
