JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Soccer opened its 2024 season with a 1-0 win over Bismarck Saturday at Darin Erstad Field.

The match was played through southeast winds that gusted as high as 35 miles an hour and was scoreless until Brielle Martin, set up by Jayla Becker, scored in the 43rd minute for the Blue Jays.

Olivia Sorlie made four saves in the Jamestown goal.

The next three matches for the Blue Jays will be on the road, starting in Bismarck Tuesday against St. Mary’s.
