Myron “Bug” Pryor, 99, Jamestown, ND formerly of Pingree, ND passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Eventide Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.
Myron was born April 20, 1924 in Pipestem Valley Township the son of Ray and Loretta (Clark) Pryor. He was baptized June 14, 1924 at St. Michael’s Church, Pingree. He grew up and attended school in the Edmunds area.
In June 0f 1944, Myron was drafted into the Army and sent overseas, European Theatre, in December 1944. He was wounded March 2, 1945, receiving the Purple Heart. Myron was discharged while at Fort Lewis, Washington on January 29, 1946.
Myron married Gertrude Redmann on October 24, 1970 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They renewed their vows August 16, 2005 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown. He ranched in the Edmunds Brush Hill area until retiring in 1995. Myron and Gertrude moved to Jamestown in September 2011, moving to Eventide Assisted Living in September 2018.
Myron was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Pingree and later St. James Basilica in Jamestown. He served on the board of the Edmunds Memorial Association and on the St. Michael’s Church Council. He was assessor for Pipestem Valley Township for several years. Myron was a member of the ND Knights of Columbus for 50 years and a member, as well, of the Disabled American Veterans and the VFW.
Bug enjoyed and valued his life as a rancher; the cattle, horses and the outdoors. His steady quiet nature will be missed.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elsie. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; nephews Mark (Donna) and Keith (Kathy); nieces, Pam (Bob) Bargmann and Jill (Jim) Brunsch; and several great nephews and nieces and their families.
Memorial Mass will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at St. James Basilica.
Interment will be in Pingree Cemetery.
