CITY (NewsDakota.com) – Grand Forks Red River moved up to a three-way tie for second place in the EDC wrestling standings with a 46-21 dual victory over Valley City on Tuesday night.

It was the final home dual of the season for Valley City, which is now 2-5 in EDC duals. The Hi-Liners won five matches in the dual, getting pins from Shane Undem and Jordan Magnuson, and decisions from Cole McGough, Jakob Ashline and Mark Miller.

Red River improves to 5-1 in EDC duals. West Fargo is atop the EDC at 5-0, but Fargo Davies, Wahpeton and Red River are all 5-1 with two duals remaining in the season.

Valley City is off until Jan. 31 when they’ll wrap up their conference dual season with a dual at Fargo Davies. The EDC Regional Tournament where wrestlers qualify for state is set for Feb. 9 at Grand Forks Red River.
