VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District is a member of the school construction coalition, joining several other school districts across the state.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said the coalition is working on a bill that will address the issue of funding repairs for aging school facilities.
Johnson said the task force won’t be asking the state to cover all the costs to repair aging facilities, but they are seeking a portion of state funding.
Some of the school districts within this coalition include Central Cass, Devils Lake, Hankinson, Hillsboro, LaMoure, Oakes, and Valley City.
The school board approved joining the construction coalition last year for a one-time cost of $1,000 dollars.
