JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The St. John’s Academy’s (SJA) Archery Club (Elementary and Middle School) participated in the ND State NASP Archery Tournament in Minot on March 15th and 16th with both Bullseye and 3D events for both elementary and middle school-aged students.

The Academy’s Archery Club followed up last year’s strong performance and National qualification with another impressive performance in 2024.

The Academy’s elementary team placed 1st overall in the 3D competition led by 5th grader, McKenna Lipetzky who was the top shooter overall. The entire team shot well in Minot, supported by Ethan Althoff who was the top elementary shooter for the boys, Ethan Krapp who placed 3rd overall (Boys), Maelee Dockter who placed 8th (Girls) and Cyrus Mann who placed 9th (Boys).

Lipetzky and Althoff earned All State honors with their performances this past weekend. Lipetzky, Althoff and Mann performed well in both the Bullseye and 3D events earning 1st, 3rd, and 8th places finishes respectively.

St. John’s Academy’s Middle School Team placed 5th overall in the Bullseye competition and 8th out of 16 teams in the 3D event. Leah Mann was one of the top performers finishing 3rd overall with a score of 272.

Principal Jeff Trumbauer said, “We are extremely proud of the Archery Club and their incredible performance
once again this year. Our coaches have done an incredible job managing the club, and challenging the
students while helping them reach their fullest potential. The students and coaches have a lot to be proud of
and have represented the Academy in fine fashion.”
