JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Dacotah Bank) – Jamestown Dollars for Scholars (JDFS) recently received a donation of $500
thanks to Ryan Harty, an employee of Dacotah Bank. As part of the company’s ‘Give Where We Live’ program, each employee may direct $200 per year to a deserving non-profit organization or local cause. Additionally, bank employees who serve on boards of non-profits may direct another $300 to their organization.
Ryan Harty says the initiative is a great way for local employees to provide financial support to non-profits, causes, and events locally. “The Give Where We Live program gives me an opportunity to consider the many activities that need financial support in our area. Dacotah Bank not only says ‘It’s good to be in Dacotah Territory,’ but we put our money where our mouth is.”
The Jamestown Dollars for Scholars chapter was formed with the goal of preserving and enhancing the quality of education in the Jamestown school district. Dollars for Scholars is dedicated to making post-secondary education more affordable by increasing scholarship opportunities. In 2015, JDFS awarded 20 scholarships for a total of $18,650. Nine years later, in 2023, an additional 25 students were impacted by awarding 45 scholarships totaling $45,600. If you are interested endowing a scholarship or learning how you can help JHS students achieving their educational dreams, please contact the Jamestown Public School Central Office.
Dacotah Bank’s Chairman and CEO, Robert Fouberg, says, “The Give Where We Live program embodies our company’s mission to maintain positive relationships with our core constituencies. With the support of our board and shareholders, our employees are able to impact and improve the quality of life in the communities that they and our customers call home.”
With over 600 employees, Dacotah Bank’s Give Where We Live initiative provides on average $121,033 annually to numerous local non-profits, causes, or events that raise money to meet the needs of the less fortunate.
