The funeral service for Margaret “Peggy” Jean Wilson, 86, Valley City, North Dakota formerly Oriska, North Dakota will be 11:00 am, Monday March 18, 2024, at St. Raphael’s Chapel in SMP Health-St. Raphael, Valley City visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 11:00 am before the service. Burial will be in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Valley City. She passed away Tuesday, March 12 at SMP Health – St. Raphael.

Margaret “Peggy” Jean Thilmony was born March 8, 1938, to John and Martha (Peterson) Thilmony. She grew up and attended school in Valley City, North Dakota graduating from St. Catherine School in 1956.

Following graduation Peggy worked at Dario’s in Valley City as a waitress where she met her future husband, Lynn Wilson. With much persistence from Lynn, Peggy agreed to a date and the rest is history. They were married on February 19, 1957. Lynn served in the Army and was stationed in Alaska, so they moved there until his discharge. Upon their return to North Dakota, they made their home in Dazey, then, moved to Pillsbury, North Dakota and had a gas station and later purchased a farmstead near Oriska, North Dakota. They farmed until 2010 when they retired to Valley City and would spend the next 13 winters in Arizona.

Peggy was family oriented, enjoying her home cooked meals together and her many baked
goods. She also enjoyed her time spent babysitting the neighbor children. Peggy worked for
Land O’ Lakes and the Pizza Factory in Valley City and was a part of the General Election
Board. Later in life she enjoyed a good game of cards, playing Bingo or Music in the Park.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oriska.

Peggy is survived by her husband Lynn, Valley City; sons Charles (Lynn) Wilson, Oriska, Wayne
Wilson, West Fargo; daughter Brenda Liebenow, Valley City, and sisters Ann Johnson, Valley
City, and Elaine Rataeu, Fargo; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Peggy is preceded in death by two brothers Jerome Thilmony and George Thilmony, one sister
June Thilmony, son-in-law Larry Liebenow and three brothers in law.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
