CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) More than 150 people from across North Dakota participated in the 2013 Special Olympics of North Dakota State Winter Games January 18 and 19 in Valley City.

Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven was moved by the enthusiasm of those who competed in the games and he hopes Valley City can host the games again next year.
It was the second year in a row that Valley City and the surrounding area hosted the games.
The event featured athletes competing in Unified Team Handball, Cross Country Skiing, Alpine Skiing, and Snow Shoe racing.
