(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School basketball teams as well as the wrestling team were on the road over the weekend.
The basketball teams fell to Groton, South Dakota on Saturday by scores of 46-29 on the girls side, and on the boys side 69-29. Both teams will be at home on Tuesday to host Leola/Frederick South Dakota, and then play Fairmount-Campbell-Tintah later in the week; with the boys going to Fairmount on Thursday, and the girls hosting FCT on Friday.
The wrestlers competed in the Nick Storhaug Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Lisbon and finished in fourth place out of the 21 teams competing with a team total of 137.5 points.
South Border was first with a team total of 197 points, followed by Lisbon (143), Carrington (140.5) and Central Cass (130) rounding out the top five.
