1st District Commander Jon Veile
WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Members of North Dakota’s American Legion Posts of the 1st District (Griggs, Steele, Traill, Cass and Barnes Counties,) and their Auxiliary will gather in West Fargo at the VFW (444 Sheyenne Street) for their 2024 Spring District Meeting on Monday, March 11th starting at 7:00 pm. A meal will be served at 5:00 pm. The cost of the meal is $10.
District Commander Jon Veile of Hope Post 18 will preside over the session. Department Commander Clarence L. Carroll III of Larimore Post 97 and other Department Officers will be in attendance.
Legionnaires will be brought up-to-date on upcoming youth activities such as American Legion Boys State to be held in June on the North Dakota State School of Science Campus in Wahpeton and the American Legion Baseball Season.
Representatives will elect a new district commander and a district vice commander for the coming, 2024-2025 Legion year. Joining the members of the District will be area Department committee members, Department Vice Commander and candidates for various Legion offices seeking support at the Department Convention in Bismarck, June 21-23, 2024. Registration is $5.
The North Dakota Department of the American Legion encompasses nearly 12,000 Legionnaires, 6,000 Auxiliary and 1,000 Sons of the American Legion throughout posts in 206 North Dakota communities.
