BISMARCK – Difficult seasons for the 2023-24 Jamestown High School basketball teams came to an end Friday.
At the AA West Region Tournament at the Bismarck Event Center, the Blue Jay boys were stopped by Legacy 62-51 and the Jamestown girls lost to Century 64-49 in loser out games.
Boys: Legacy 62, Jamestown 51
Legacy broke open a tight game with a run early in the second half, keyed by two three-pointers by Jonathan Robideaux.
Lucas Kupfer scored 18 points with 17 rebounds to lead the Sabers. Robideaux scored 11. Brody Weigel had 10.
Dalton Lamp ended his Jamestown career by leading all scorers with 20 points for the Blue Jays (7-15). Thomas Newman scored 13 with eight rebounds. Jackson Rose scored 12.
Girls: Century 64, Jamestown 49
Eden Fridley scored 17 points for Century, who also had 13 points and 12 rebounds from Erika Lee.
However, Jamestown (6-18) played one of its better defensive games of the season, limiting Century to 38% shooting.
Adisyn Yunck led the Blue Jays with 11 points. Haley Attleson scored 10 with three three-pointers and hit eight threes in her two games of the tournament.
