KANSAS CITY, KS – University of Jamestown Baseball ended its first weekend of spring games 2-2 after another split on Sunday.
UJ defeated Dakota State 7-3 before losing to William Penn 7-6 at the PBR Homefield Complex.

Ben Patton hit a two-run home run in the sixth to open a 6-2 lead for the Jimmies (10-1).
Jordan Singleton had an RBI single for Jamestown. Jackson Bonneville and Isaiah Roebuck hit sacrifice flies and Ryan Muizelaar drove in a run with a fielder’s choice.
Avery Liestman (1-0) combined with two relievers on a five-hitter. Liestman struck out seven in five innings, allowing two runs and four hits.
Hayden Brown worked the last inning and two-thirds for his second save.
William Penn 7, Jamestown 6
William Penn scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-2 lead before a rally for Jamestown (10-2) fell just short.
The Jimmies scored twice in the fourth on RBI singles by Bonneville and Alex Alva. Roebuck had a sixth-inning RBI triple to cut the lead for the Statesmen to 7-5.
Singleton had a sacrifice fly in the seventh and UJ was within a run, but Brown grounded out and Muizelaar flew out to end the game.
Jett Nelson homered and Chase Burke hit an RBI single in a two-run third for Jamestown.
Jack Howard (2-1) lasted just three innings, giving up six runs and six hits.
The Jimmies will play eight games in seven days at the Tucson Invitational Games, starting Saturday with a doubleheader against Dickinson State.
