FARGO – Grady Anderson wasn’t to be stopped.  Kaydence Golding was stopped at last, but still had a remarkable season.

Anderson won the 152-pound boys Class A title Friday with Golding finishing as the runner-up among 112-pound girls at the NDHSAA Wrestling Individual State Championships at the FARGODOME.

Anderson, following up his WDA title the week before, edged Sawyer Carr of Sheyenne in a 5-4 decision in the championship match.

Anderson finished 39-1 in his senior season and won his last 18 matches.

This is the third straight year that Jamestown has had a boys wrestling individual champion.  Jackson Walters won in his weight class last year after Aden Braun and Colton Mewes won titles in 2022.

After losing in the 112-pound semifinal, Jack Schauer came back to win fifth place with a pin of Korbin Kraft of Minot.

Lucas Schlepuetz fought through the wrestle backs for sixth place at 133 pounds.  Jackson Alexander of Sheyenne topped Schlepuetz in a 9-1 major decision in the fifth-place match.

Golding, a seventh-grader, had pins in her three matches Thursday to make Friday’s final.  There, she faced top seed Alicia Kenfack of Bismarck Legacy, who completed a 44-0 season by winning a 7-0 decision.

Two Jamestown girls had sixth-place finishes.  Gabby Romans lost to Legacy’s Sofia Meyer for fifth at 148 pounds.  Grace Bercier fell in the 170-pound sixth-place match to Jordan Radasa of Williston.

Overall, the Blue Jay girls finished 15th with 45 points.  The Jamestown boys had 48 1/2 points to place 13th.
