vikings-women

VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Two more games for the Viking men and women, a runup to conference tournament time, start tonight in South Dakota.

Valley City State travels to Madison, SD to take on Dakota State tonight, and will play at Bellevue University in Nebraska tomorrow to wrap up the regular season.

The Viking women are playing for positioning.  They are currently in third place in the North Star Athletic Association, a half-game up on Viterbo.  Valley City State is assured a home game in the NSAA tournament, but can either clinch the third seed or slip to fourth.

For the Viking men, the story is different.  The Vikings are in seventh place, but only two games out of third in an extremely compact race.

Dakota State has a top-10 womens team, but that team was pummeled in a 23-point loss at Mayville State last week, and hasn’t played since.  They currently have a share of first place in the conference standings.  The Dakota State men are tied for third place, one of the teams the Vikings are trying to catch.

Pregame coverage starts just after 5:00 PM tonight on KOVC.
