VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two men are facing charges following a high-speed pursuit on Wednesday, February 14th that started in Valley City and ended east of Casselton.
Valley City Police Chief Nick Horner said officers were called to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Love’s Truck Stop in Valley City.
Horner said while officers were speaking with several individuals near the suspicious vehicle, the driver of the vehicle fled by driving over a curb and eventually onto to Interstate 94 heading eastbound. He said a pursuit was initiated as officer’s discovered the vehicle was stolen.
The vehicle was stopped near Casselton after officers with the North Dakota Highway Patrol and Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies used a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle on Interstate 94.
The driver, Christopher Wilkie was arrested and faces a number of charges along with his passenger, Justice Erickson who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
