Larimore, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Carrington boys wrestling team defeated Pembina County North (PCN) 51-21 in a challenge match for second place and qualified for the state dual tournament in Fargo on February 17th. The Cardinals were defeated in the title match by the top seeded Northern Lights (NL) team 45-21. The Cards went 3-1 overall with wins over Larimore (42-8), Hillsboro-Central Valley (HCV–54-13), and PCN (51-21).

The Cards picked up wins by pin or forfeit from Skye Kramlich (107), Dru Carr (114), Kolby Zink (127), Gabe Clifton (133), Nic Garber (139), Corbin Clifton (145), Jacob Hinrichs (160), Max Ciuboteraneau (172), Callen Garber (189), Kirby Freeman (215), and Brody Weisenberger (285) in the opening round win over Larimore.

Winners via pin or forfeit over HCV were Kramlich (107), Jayden Broadwell (121), Nic Garber (145), Corbin Clifton (152), Ciuboteraneau (172), C. Garber (189), Freeman (215), and Weisenberger (285). Gabe Clifton picked up a 6-5 decision at 133 over Carson Kozojed.

Northern Lights won 8 of 13 matches in the title dual and rolled to the NE region championship 45-21. Carrington got pins from Gabe Clifton (133) and Corbin Clifton (145). Other Cards earning wins were Max Ciuboteraneau (172) 2-1 over Trey Laducer, Brody Weisenberger (285) 6-2 over Brett Tastad, and Dru Carr (114) 5-2 (UTB) over Keenan Gores. NL picked up wins by pin or forfeit from Kayden Houle (121), Braelyn  Herman (127), Havlin Delong (152), Lane Zupan (160), Cole Henderson (189), and Bode Henderson (107).

The Cards piled up 8 pins in the second place challenge match against PCN, G. Clifton (133), N. Garber (139), C. Clifton (145), Vinnie Ruppell (152), Ciuboteraneau (172), Weisenberger (285), Kramlich (107), and Carr (114). C. Garber also earned a 6-5 decision at 189 over Kayden Rose. PCN picked up wins by pin from Logan Werner (127), Oscar Martinez (121), and Gavin Symington (215).
