FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Republican Rep. Kelly Armstrong is getting ready to kick off his run for governor of North Dakota.
His campaign has sent out an advisory that Armstrong is holding a gubernatorial campaign kick off on Friday, January 26th at noon at Brewhalla in Fargo.
Armstrong will be joined by supporters as he begins the journey to securing the Republican nomination for governor.
Current Gov. Doug Burgum announced on Monday that he is not seeking a third term in office. His term ends in mid-December.
Armstrong is in his third term in Congress having been elected to North Dakota’s sole U.S. House seat in 2018, 2020 and 2022. The attorney and former state GOP chairman is the first Republican to announce a campaign for the gubernatorial November 5th election.
