(ND Ag Connection) – The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Saddle and Sirloin Club is poised to host the 98th Little International on February 9-10, 2024, a testament to its long-standing tradition since 1922. The event, expanding over the years, now includes a variety of showmanship competitions spanning beef, dairy, sheep, goats, swine, and more.

The preparations involve over 300 club members and 30 committees, dedicated to enhancing the event annually.

The Little International kicks off with a 4-H and FFA livestock judging contest at Shepperd Arena, followed by a hippology contest at the NDSU Equine Center. One of the event’s highlights includes honoring the Agriculturist of the Year.

This year, Larry Schnell from Dickinson, North Dakota, a notable figure in livestock marketing, will be celebrated at the Hall of Fame Banquet.

The event also spotlights Kasi Holm from Ashley, North Dakota, as the 98th Little International Queen, who will play a crucial role in promoting agriculture and animal care. Alongside her, two princesses, Lilly Bina and Madalyn Gieseke, will also represent the club’s mission.

Concluding the event, livestock showmanship preliminaries and finals will take place in Shepperd Arena, showcasing the skills and dedication of participants. The Little International remains an emblem of NDSU’s commitment to agricultural education and the celebration of agricultural heritage.
