CARRINGTON, N.D. (KNOX/NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown woman entered a guilty plea Friday, January 12th to a charge of murder in the death of a five month old baby.

The Foster County State’s Attorney says Patricia Wick was arrested nearly a year ago after an investigation by Carrington Police Department and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Court documents say that in September 2022 authorities responded to an in-home daycare on a report of an unresponsive baby. The child later died at a Fargo hospital.

Wick’s jury trial was scheduled to begin January 29th but with the guilty plea a sentencing date is pending. She was also charged with child abuse and operating a child care without a license.
