VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two men had to be rescued after a sheet of ice broke away from the shores of Lake Ashtabula on Saturday, December 16th.

Fire Chief Scott Magnuson said it took rescue crews more than two hours to bring the men to safety after they responded to the call for service around 8:53pm Saturday night. He said no injuries were reported.
