VALLEY CITY, N.D. (Farm Rescue) – Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization, based in Horace, North Dakota provides free planting, haying, harvesting, commodity hauling and livestock feeding assistance to farm and ranch families who have experienced a major injury, illness or natural disaster, has received another generous donation of parts and upgrades, courtesy of John Deere Seeding Group in Valley City, ND.
Since the very first seeds of hope were planted by Farm Rescue volunteers back in 2006, the nonprofit has proudly utilized John Deere equipment to support its planting assistance efforts. These machines have served the organization well over the years, but with the large number of acres and road miles covered on an annual basis, these machines occasionally need updates and refurbishment.
John Deere and John Deere Seeding Group of Valley City, ND have been incredible supporters of Farm Rescue’s mission throughout its history, sponsoring vital equipment and replacement parts to keep field operations running smoothly. In 2018, John Deere Seeding Group sponsored replacement seed discs on Farm Rescue’s 1890 John Deere air seeding units, with several employees volunteering to perform this extensive service work. In 2022, the company donated new rock shafts and other state-of-the-art components to overhaul these same air seeding implements.
This year, the company is going above and beyond yet again to provide new run blockage components and software updates on Farm Rescue’s air seeding units. These upgrades will add current technology and operational capabilities to the machines, which were originally purchased in 2017. On November 9, several John Deere Seeding Group employees volunteered their time and talents to install these components on the nonprofit’s air seeding implements. Organizers of the North Dakota Winter Show were also kind enough to donate indoor space for this work to be completed.
