JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A man who was presumed dangerous escaped from the State Hospital in Jamestown on Tuesday afternoon.
The man identified as 28-year-old Jeffrey Cofresi escaped the hospital at around 2:05 pm on Tuesday afternoon. He was taken into custody at around 7 pm on Tuesday evening with local law enforcement providing assistance.
In July of 2022, Cofresi had assaulted a deputy from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office while incarcerated at the Cass County Jail. The assault occurred in the jail’s maximum security housing unit. Cofresi was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer.
