The University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team picked up its last regular season win of 2023 against Dakota Wesleyan University Tuesday night.
Jamestown would start on fire against the Tigers. It was 5-4 that the Jimmies were up, but then they started putting some pad on their lead. After kills from multiple jimmies, they would pull out ahead 12-7. From there they kept the gas on the rest of the way as they went up 22-12 before finishing the set 25-13. In the 2nd set, the Jimmies would still show some dominance but there was more pushback from Dakota Wesleyan. There was never a lead larger than 3 points until the Jimmies were ahead 19-16. That 3rd set must have motivated the Jimmies because it was 8-7 the Jimmies were ahead, and they lit up the tigers going on a 5-0 run before the Jimmies would service error making the score 13-8. From there the Jimmies would keep that 5-point lead to 16-11. Jamestown would finish on a 9-2 run winning the set 25-13. Aleah Zieske would lead the team in kills with 24.
