ORISKA, N.D. (NDHP) – A man died following a rollover fatal crash on Interstate 94 in the westbound lane about a mile west of Oriska, N.D. around 1:15 am on Saturday, October 28th.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind said a 2005 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on I-94 near MM 301 in Barnes County, approximately 1 mile west of Oriska.

While westbound, the driver, 50-year-old Tim Johnson of Valley City lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway. The Ford began a spin on the roadway and then entered the north ditch. After entering the north ditch, the Ford rolled, coming to rest in the north ditch along the fence line. The Ford came to rest on its drivers side, facing north. During the rollover crash, Tim and his passenger, 42-year-old Kerri Johnson of Valley City were both ejected. Both came to rest in the north ditch.

Tim Johnson was transported by the Barnes County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Valley City where he was pronounced deceased.

Kerri Johnson was transported by the Barnes County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Valley City and then via Sanford Air Med to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. She suffered serious injuries.

Agencies Involved included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Barnes County SO, Valley City FD, Barnes County Ambulance, Sanford Air Med.

This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
