The football season has come to an end for the Hi-Liners as the Spartans of Fargo North backed up their number one ranking with a win to move on to the Class AA Semi-Finals.

For Valley City, their first drive would start out promising getting to the 43-yard-line before electing to punt on 4th and short. The decision initially looked like a good one for Valley City as North was faced with a 3rd & 11 before Tight End Joe Rose got behind the defense to keep the drive alive with a long reception. Peder Haugo would punch it in for a score soon after to give the Spartans a 7-0.

The next drive for Valley City would result in a fumble as a botched handoff was recovered by the Spartans deep in Hi-Liner territory. The defense would force a third down before Ethan Welk escaped for a short touchdown run to make it 14-0. After another punt on 4th and short Haugo would tack on another touchdown, with Carter Zeller getting in on the action to make it 28-0.
Despite being well up in the game the Spartans elected to go for a surprise onside kick which they recovered and eventually tacked on another touchdown to make it 34-0 at the half.

Coming out of the break Valley City would boot it deep to the Spartans only to watch as Parker Dosch streaked down the field virtually untouched for a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Hi-Liners would eventually bust up the shutout as an Ethan Miller INT set up Valley City deep in Spartan territory with Caden Amann punching it in for a one-yard touchdown run to make it a 41-7 contest. With the running clock in effect, the game would wind down after a pair of drives for both sides ended in punts.

Valley City finished with a 4-6 record with the Spartans moving on to the semi-finals to take on the winner of West Fargo Horace and Dickinson.
