With sad hearts, the family of Janice announces her passing on October 23, 2023, at the age of 85 in her home at Farmstead Living, Moorhead, MN.
Janice was born April 4, 1938, to Alfred and Helen Nygaard in Litchville, ND. Janice grew up and attended school in Litchville. She was very active in high school and graduated Valedictorian of her class, played basketball, and twirled baton.
Janice married Lowell Komrosky June 4, 1956. They lived in California for a while and returned to North Dakota eventually settling in Tower City where they raised their 4 children. They also had 3 nephews who moved to the farm in their high school years. Rick, Mark, and Paul Olson.
Janice and Lowell drove bus for many years. Their home was a gathering place for many. Family and friends were always welcome and of course enjoyed her delicious cooking. Janice was a devoted Christian. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and the entire family always attended the Christmas Eve church program, followed by supper, and only then could presents be opened. She was involved in many Church activities and cleaned the Church for many years.
Janice was very talented in many areas and was always there to help anyone out. She loved to sing and act. She had many jobs over the years and could be found doing perms, cutting, and fixing hair at any one of her friend’s places. Some of her activities on the farm included
gardening, pickling, selling eggs and butchering chickens. One of her favorite jobs was Activity Director at Sheyenne Care Center. She was a member of and helped with many organizations which included, Homemakers, Ladies Aid, Birthday Club, Eagles, and 4-H to name a few. She
was always there for her children’s events. She loved with her whole heart and always put everything she had into whatever she did.
Janice married Jerome Dallmann July 8, 1995. They farmed and made their home near Edgeley, ND. They enjoyed raising greyhounds and retired life before moving to the Fargo-Moorhead area in 2019.
Janice is survived by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Cindy Herk, Willow River; MN, sons, Jerry (Sherri) Komrosky, Moorhead, MN and Lonnie (Laurie) Komrosky, Cando, ND; grandchildren, Dustin (Nicole) Herk, Maya & Laurel, Bayport, MN, Cody Herk, Carrington, ND, Trista Herk, Eljah and Bella, Wendell, MN, Kristin (Cody) Mathiason, Kane and Blake, Fargo, ND, Kraig (Carey) Komrosky, Kinley, Beckam, and Everett, Hawley MN, Tanner (Ashley) Komrosky, Devils Lake, ND, Jayden Komrosky, Cando, ND; sister, JoAnne (Alan) King, Belize; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Rick) Seiler, Glasgow, MT, and Bonnie (Terry) Mosby, Valley City, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Nygaard; daughter, Connie Komrosky; brother, Lowell Nygaard; and sister, Dolores Gwynn.
Visitation will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City on Sunday, October 29 from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM when the prayer service and time of sharing will begin. The funeral service will be Monday, October 30 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviors. Burial and a time of fellowship will follow at Waldheim Lutheran Church, rural Kathryn, ND.
