LaMoure-Litchville-Marion had the home field versus North Star Saturday, October 21st in the opening round of the 9-man playoffs and the Loboes put up nine touchdowns and cruised to a 64-20 victory.
L-M-M raced out to a 24-0 lead and never looked back. Standout Sophomore RB Gunner Thielges lit up the scoreboard with seven touchdowns. Thielges came into the game averaging 9.9 yards per carry and he improved on those numbers as he carried the ball 30 times for 410 yards or 13.6 yards per carry.
Thielges had TD runs of 34,8,4,51,15,75 and 60 yards.
Sophomore Avery Kramer added TD runs of 16 and 51 yards.
The Loboes ran 41 plays in the game and put up 548 yards of total offense including 531 on the ground.
Defensively, L-M-M allowed only 206 yards of offense and came up with two sacks and two interceptions. Senior Blaze Issacson came up with his third pick of the season and Senior Max Musland snagged his second pick of the season.
Next up for the 8-2 Loboes is a trip to New Rockford Saturday, October 28th to battle the undefeated 9-0 Rockets who beat Hankinson in the first round 55-23. New Rockford-Sheyenne is ranked third in the state.
This will be the first time these two teams will rumble since the 2012 playoffs.
