FOREST CITY, IA  (NewsDakota.com, photo courtesy of VCSUVikings.com)  The Vikings had 93 yards total offense, 32 yards rushing, and a 24-0 deficit at halftime Saturday at Waldorf, and their hopes of a conference title were on life support.

Noah Chambers was a shock to the system the Vikings needed.

Chambers entered the game at quarterback just before halftime, and took the snaps throughout the second act, throwing for 139 yards and two scores, rushing for 63 yards and two more, including the game-winner with 2:02 left, and the Vikings completed the comeback with a 28-24 win.

With the lead down to three, the Vikings were stopped just short of the goalline, facing fourth down with the game in the balance.  Chambers executed the quarterback sneak, and the crowd waited several seconds for the officials to resolve the play.  The touchdown was indicated, sending the lead to the Vikings for the first time in the game.

Waldorf drove to the Viking 32 with 20 seconds left, but Jordan Cooper underthrew Malik Adams, and Viking safety Paco Baltazar made a leaping grab for the first, and only, turnover of the game, sealing the Vikings win with 13 seconds to go.

Justice Bice rushed for 114 yards, and grabbed seven passes for 113 more, along with touchdown tosses from Chambers of 42 and 34 yards.

The Viking defense, torched for 290 first half yards, allowed just 51 more the entire second half, including only 12 rushing yards.  Jahidi West, having an All-American type season, had 14 more tackles in the win, now at 72 this season.

With the win, the Vikings improve to 4-2 overall, 3-1 in North Star Athletic Association play, and have a bye week next week.  A loss would have taken control of the season from the Vikings.  The win gives them a chance to win out and claim at least a share of the league title.
