Colfax, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes were able to control all aspects of play on Thursday evening bringing home a dominant 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-7) victory over the Richland Colts.

The game started all Tornadoes early in set one jumping out to a 5-3 lead before Richland fought back to 8-8. However the Tornadoes would only allow 3 more points in set winning the set 25-11.

Set 2 was much closer with 5 lead changes and 8 ties. The match was tied last at 14-14 before Oakes jumped out to a 16-14 lead. Richland would make it 16-15 but Oakes would score the next 9 to win it 25-15.

Set 3 was all Oakes once again. They jumped out to an early 6-0 lead which would slowly expand to a 10-2 lead and a 20-5 lead. They’d take the match and the set 25-7.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Paige Bakke with 10 kills.

The Tornadoes will now play for either a 2 or 3 seed in the District 5 Tournament as they take on Carrington on Tuesday October 10th in Carrington. You can catch all the action on KDDR the Tornado with the pregame starting at 6:45 and game starting at 7:00.
