LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals played their only non-region game of the season on Friday night, taking on Class A Region 1 team the Broncos of Lisbon. The Broncos were down 27-26 with 1:51 left to play in the fourth quarter, they drove 70 yards and score on a quarterback sneak from the one yard line as time expired to win it over Carrington 32-27. Carrington drops to 4-2 overall, Lisbon improves to 4-1 overall.
The first half featured six touchdowns, four from Lisbon and two from Carrington, Lisbon led 26-13. The Cardinals came out in the second half and scored two TD’s to take the lead for the first time in the game 27-26 with under two minutes to play. The final play of the game came with just three seconds left, the Broncos had the ball on the one yard line on third and goal. Senior QB Wyatt Olson took the quarterback sneak into the end zone for the game winning TD.
