NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown man was killed in a plane crash in a cornfield 5 miles south of New Rockford on Tuesday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the plane piloted by 63 year-old Lawrence Polries, hit an electrical wire and crashed around 12:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Air Tractor Agriculture plane was spraying a sunflower field on the east side of Highway 281. Polries was flying west after spraying a pass and hit an electrical wire with the plane’s tail fin, lost control and crashed.
Polries died at the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the FAA.
