CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Viper Squirt hockey team won the championship at the New Year’s Tournament in Bismarck this past weekend.

The Vipers rolled over the competition, dominating in their three games with big victories. Valley City beat Minot 16-1, Bismarck 17-0 and then won the championship with a 9-4 victory over Dickinson.

The Viper Squirts are 9 and 10-year-olds. They are coached by Marshall Senf and Neil Munro.

The VC Viper Squirts will play in another tournament this weekend in Mayville with their first game matching them against the Fargo Shanley Angels.
