(NewsDakota.com)  Rumble on the Red is a huge wrestling tournament featuring over 1400 kids from five different states held at the Fargo Dome.  The event was held December 28th-30th, 2012.  The Carrington Cardinals were one of the 65 High Schools participating.  Senior Cordell Schroeder placed second at 285 and Senior Lucas Brown placed sixth at 106. 

In the first place match at 285, Schroeder was defeated by Michael Burckhardt of Coon Rapids Minnesota by decision 5-2.

In the fifth place match, Brown was defeated by Beau Johnsrud of Albert Lea Minnesota by forfeit.

Schroeder and Brown were the only two varsity wrestlers to place in the Tourney for Carrington, if a wrestler lost two matches, they were done. 

Here are the Varsity results for Carrington wrestlers.

106 – Lucas Brown, 6th place, scored 15 team points, four matches total. Brown didn’t make weight on day two so he had to forfeit all three matches on Saturday.

126 – Chaz Bauer scored 4 team points, three matches total

132 – Walker Carr scored 6 team points, three matches total 

138 – Patrick Freeman scored 6 team points, three matches total

145 – Billy Holtan scored 2 team points, four matches total

152 – Riley Lura scored 6 team points, four matches total

285 – Cordell Schroeder, 2nd place, scored 31 team points, six matches total

 

In the JV, Freshman Keenan Kvamme of Carrington placed fourth.

Next up for the Carrington Wrestlers is a 7-12 Triangular in Carrington on Thursday, January 10th starting at 5pm.  Weigh-ins begin at 3:30p.  Harvey/Wells County will grapple with Carrington starting at 5p, followed by Harvey/Wells County against Central Cass and at 7:30p Central Cass vs Carrington.
