(NewsDakota.com) The Lisbon High School girls basketball team earned their first victory of the 2012-13 season with a Cassidy Rasmusson three-pointer at the end of regulation to defeat the Oakes Tornadoes 40-39 on Thursday evening.
Oakes had a lead as high as nine points in the fourth quarter, however, turnovers down the stretch along with a low percentage of converting free throws allowed the Broncos to claw their way back in, and Rasmusson’s three from the right wing allowed the home team to walk off the floor with their first number in the victory column.
Rasmusson finished with nine points, Chelsea Nielsen lead the Broncos (1-4 1-0 District 1) with 15 points. Oakes (2-4 0-1 District 1) was lead by Nicole Warren with 18 points; Karlie Knutson had 8.
Next up for Oakes is a home contest versus North Sargent next Friday night.
