CITY (NewsDakota.com) – After almost a month away from the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse, the VCSU basketball teams resume their home schedule Friday night with a doubleheader against Minnesota-Morris.
The Vikings went on the road and swept Morris back on Dec. 4. The VCSU men won 61-51 and the women won 60-53. Coverage of Friday’s games can be heard on KOVC 1490 and NewsDakota.com. Pregame starts at 5:15 p.m. with the women set to tip at 5:30 and the men at 7:30. It is one of seven home doubleheaders remaining this season for the Vikings.
Valley City State’s women currently hold an 11-2 record and the No. 17 ranking in the NAIA Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll. The Viking men are 10-4 and ranked No. 15 in the latest poll.
Since their last home games, VCSU’s women have posted a 3-1 record and the men have gone 2-2.
The Viking women had won 11 games in a row before a loss to Daemen College (NY) last weekend during a tournament in Florida. VCSU’s men are coming off a 73-69 win over Whittier College last Sunday in California.
