(NewsDakota.com) North Dakota Class B District 1 Girls basketball play starts Thursday night, and the Oakes Tornadoes will hit the road for their first district contest as they take on the Lisbon Broncos.

Oakes has started the year with a 2-3 mark; losing the first three to Central Cass, Britton-Hecla South Dakota and Ellendale, but winning their last two games and taking the championship at the Dakota Holiday Tournament in Ellendale last week after defeating Leola/Fredrick South Dakota and Ellendale. 

Lisbon’s start to the year has yet to garner a victory, as they are 0-4, with losses to LaMoure-Litchville/Marion, Valley City, Enderlin, and most recently a 64-41 loss to Fargo Oak Grove last Friday.
