PARK RIVER, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The fourth day of the 2023 North Dakota Babe Ruth Class B State tournament was held on Monday with two games, here are the results:

Lamoure 8  Valley City 1

The A’s put up two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as they improved to 4-0 when facing elimination at the State Tourney. Avery Kramer pitched a great game, working all seven innings, allowed just one run on 76 pitches, five strikeouts, one hit and three walks. At the plate, Gunner Thielges had a triple, three runs knocked in and scored once. Logan Potts had three singles and an RBI. For Valley City, Andrew Sykora takes the loss, Jack Samuelson was 2-for-3 at the plate. VC ends their season at 17-10 overall and in third place.

Park River 4  Lamoure 0 (championship)

Park River scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and added two more in the fifth and hold Lamoure scoreless to win the State Babe Ruth championship. The A’s committed four errors, three in the fifth inning. Tucker Omdahl was great on the mound in the championship game, working all seven innings, 79 pitches, no runs, five strikeouts, two hits and one walk. Colby Thielges pitched a nice game as well but suffers the loss, working six innings, 79 pitches, four runs, two earned. Gunner Thielges and Luke Wagner hit singles, the only two hits of the ballgame for Lamoure. PR is now 35-2 overall, Lamoure ends their season at 21-3 overall.
