FARGO, N.D. (NDHP) – According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol on Monday, July 24th, at approximately 1:11 am, the patrol responded to a one vehicle rollover crash on Interstate-94 near MM 313 in western Cass County.

Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind said a 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck, towing a 2023 Wilson grain hopper trailer, was eastbound on I-94 when the driver fell asleep. The vehicle combination entered the median, striking the median
cable barrier and rolled onto its side.

The driver, 33-year-old Nathan Messmer was uninjured in the crash. Approximately 1/8 mile of cable median barrier was struck during the crash.

The Peterbilt was hauling a load of sunflowers, which spilled during the rollover. Clean-up continues at the crash site.

Messmer was cited for Care Required. The crash remains under investigation by the ND Highway Patrol.
