VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The annual school board meeting was held Wednesday, July 19th.

Ryan Mathias was nominated to serve another year as the school board president while, Darin Anderson was nominated to serve as vice-president.

Chris Grafing becomes the newest school board member after he was elected to serve out the remaining term of Natalie Wintch who stepped down after she and her family moved out of the school district.

The position will be placed back on the June 11th, 2024, ballot. Grafing will serve one year and then he has the option of running for a full 3-year term along with any other interested candidates.

Meanwhile, Rudy Ask who was appointed to serve for one year by the school board last year decided not to run in the June 2023 election.

In other school district news, online school registration opens on August 1st, new staff orientation will be held August 10th and the Back to School Bash will be August 15th.
