FARGO, N.D. (NDHP) – A Florida man died in a crash on Interstate 29 about 20 miles north of Fargo on Sunday, July 9th around 2:48am.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) said a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Logan Barcia from Old Town, Florida was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 near mile marker 88. The 2014 Ram 1500 ran off the roadway and overturned in the median. Barcia was ejected and came to rest in the northbound lane of Interstate 29. Barcia was then struck by a 2024 International truck traveling northbound on Interstate 29. Barcia was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the International truck, 50-year-old Jeffrey Samples of Meridian, MS was no injured. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Agencies assisting the Highway Patrol included the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Grandin Fire Dept, and Hunter Ambulance.
