JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Payton Hochhalter and Thomas Newman combine for a no hit shutout against Carrington Post 25 on Friday night and cruise to a 9-0 victory at the Phil Brown Classic at Jack Brown Stadium. Jamestown is now 10-8 overall, Carrington drops to 5-4 overall.

Hochhalter had one walk, no hits and no runs in five and two-thirds work, Newman worked an inning and third with no runs and no hits. At the plate for the Eagles, Hochhalter was 4-for-4, with three singles, a double and scored twice. Josh Bickett took the loss.

Carrington will play the loser of Detroit Lakes vs. Mandan on Saturday at 3pm in the consolation round at the Phil Brown Classic legion baseball tourney. KDAK AM 1600/FM 100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting about 3pm.
